A pretty good start

I’ve had a pretty good start this spring. Still some annoying ups and downs but my ride sessions have been mostly good. This last saturday gave me some serious pain in my neck. That ride session wasn’t good for me regarding my neck injury. But most of the session went well beside that and was fun.

There have been several good sessions the past two weeks. With the best ones at last sunday and the sunday before that. Lots of technical riding and just getting back into riding. Getting as many good days as possible. And less of those bad day after.

Of those five sessions i have had so far only one gave me problems already during the ride. The other four went well the same day but gave me problems the day after. The biggest issue is the cold wind which affects both my neck injury and other things. Hopefully it will get warmer soon and i can have more of those good days with lots of riding.


Thoughts about my riding this year

Life really messes with you sometimes. I have been living with a neck injury since 2006, having constant pain around my neck and shoulders since then. I have tried getting things better but life don’t always play nice and i still have big problems with that injury. About two and a half years ago i slammed into a concrete floor messing up my ribs pretty bad and i still have problems with that injury, and in january this year i sprained the foot really bad and its still giving me issues. So three injurys are affecting my life.

Previous years things have been really difficult. Lots of other things making it hard to get better and to stay motivated. This year though things are slowly changing for the better. I am finally working with some fun and interesting stuff, which makes the rest of my life a bit easier. And i have started to do things to improve my health and to attempt making my injurys better. Small steps so far but i am doing something for once.

My previous seasons with Mountain Biking and other action sports have not been good. A few sessions here and there.

Started riding again last week. Got three decent sessions that week and i am getting more and more motivated. Fun to ride out in the woods with no other purpose than having fun. Bikes are my main way of transportation and i commute with my bike all year around. Regardless of weather. So i haven’t been completely passive regarding physical activities. But there are a lot of things to work on. I have gained a lot of weight. My strength, stamina and balance is really bad. I spend most of my days sitting in a chair working with a computer.

My plans for this year is to get my riding to a good level. To be out on a regular basis riding my bikes. I will try to train and do some rehab as well so i can deal with my injurys, my weight gain, and those other things. But the main focus will be on my riding. Being active with it and to have fun.


Getting things going

I have been working today setting things up with my blog. I don’t know if blogging is a big thing anymore with all that social media in existence. But i feel that i need a place to put my thoughts and other things regardless of how many visitors i get.

And i have decided to blog only in english, mostly because i need the practice thinking and writing in english. Its an important part of my work and also a good thing to keep working on for other reasons as well.

The purpose of this blog is to write about all kinds of things relating to my life. But for the moment i will be mostly focused on my health and my rehabilitation, mixed with things relating to my interests in Mountain Biking and BMX. Most of my posts this year will be about those things. And i will try to be as open as possible with most of the things that affects my life in one way or another.

I am hoping to post as often as possible. A few post every week would be nice, but i am happy if i manage to post at least once a week. I have tried blogging before and there have been long gaps between each post. Months, sometimes even more than a year.
